My BhadraChalam Trip

August 15th &16th, 2007.
______________________________

Our trip to Bhadrachalam (which is situated in Andhra Pradesh, India) started on 14th August and we returned on 17th August morning. The trip was very much enjoyable especially because of the boat travel in the middle of Godavari River.

Bhadrachalam is famous for Lord Rama Temple & his devotee Bhakta RamDas.

From Hyderabad, we started on 14th night by train (departed sec'bad at 10.30 p.m) and it reached kothagudam at morning 5.00 A.M. From Kothagudam railway station, we took a bus to reach Bhadrachalam which took around 1 hr. The advantage here is the buses ply from Kothagudam station to Bhadrachalam, so one can catch the buses very easily. The fare is also very cheap around Rs.20/- per head.

we went to a nearby hotel and booked 2 rooms for my family (parents-2, sister's family-4, my family -4) and it costed around Rs. 600/- for A/C room. The hotel is decent & neat.

we went to Darshan at around 9 a.m and it happened very quickly because of less crowd.

The Bhadrachalam temple top can be seen here...
Another snap of my parents & sister's family along with me (my wife is taking the snap) is here.

2nd day (16th August, 2007)
There is placed called Koonavaram which is about 50km from Bhadrachalam from where the boat travel starts which takes you to show "Paapi Kondalu" famous for their scenic appearance.
we booked tickets on 15th which costing around Rs.200/- per head. The boat timings are 9.30 to 4.30. we went by bus to koonavaram at 6.30. Though the travel is supposed to be around 1 to 1.5 hrs, it took around 2.5 hrs for us, because of the road being blocked by the fall of a very big tree. we got down the bus from this end and took the bus on the other end and reached koonvaram around 9.30. The boat started at around 10.30......

(1st Photo showing the tree blocking the road).
The scenic beauty of the Godavari river and the surrounding hills is marvelous.
and is doubled if you are going in a boat in between the river with surrounding hills :)
You can find the scenic beauty in the last of above two photos.

It was lovely reading about your trip. Adorned with beautiful temples and flocked by thousands of devotees, the holy town of Bhadrachalam is associated with Lord Ram. If you are planning a fun filled vacation to this town, then check out these hotels in Bhadrachalam offering memorable stay.
